Gift Cards of Love

Hello Toronto Canada! Welcome to Gift Cards of LOVE!

When you walk around your neighbourhood, do you see homeless people? People who are asking for money, food, or just sleeping on the side of the road? Is your first thought negative, or wanting to help?

Well my inkling now, after having been homeless for over a year, is to try to help people. How can we do that? There are many ways.

Gift Cards of Love is one of those ways.
Our goal is to provide pan handlers with gift cards of $15 and up, so they can get things THEY need.
Clothes can be had for cheap (socks are always needed...) from Winners, or WalMart. BUT some people like thin socks, some thick, one person may like long tube socks, someone else may like ankle socks.
Some people need underwear more than socks.
Someone may need shoes, or t-shirts, or maybe pants.

So we give someone a gift card for Winners, and they walk in, with DIGNITY and buy themselves what they need.

What if someone needs deodorant? They may not be able to use the SpeedStick (I know I can't because of skin issues) BUT I can use gels... so if someone gave me a gift card for Shoppers, it was what I bought. Same with Razors (so individual in taste right? You may like Shick, that guy there may prefer Bic, and me, I prefer Life (or Equate) brand 5 blade system. Shaving cream is the same - someone may like one brand and someone may hate it.

So giving someone the chance to walk into a store and buy something they will USE means less to the landfills, and more actually used.

GCOL isn't asking you to do HUGE donations - just small ones. We've set up a GoFundMe page for one time donations. We'll soon have a Patreon page for monthly donations.

We can also use gift cards. Go to Shoppers DrugMart, WalMart, or even Loblaws and buy some gift cards off their shelves, and contact me, I'll come pick, them up!

I need support launching this though - monetary to get a website going, prayers, and even help soliciting donations in and around Toronto.
PLEASE consider helping CGOL. Even if it's just SHARING this post, you could possibly save someone's life with your help.

Thanks, Allan
