A Gift for Griff
Donation protected
My name is Ashley, and Cooper is sitting here beside me. We came to GoFundMe because our brother, Griffin, was recently diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
As the youngest kid in the family, Griff has endured his fair share of beatings: on three separate occasions I've knocked his teeth out; I nearly set him ablaze trying to start a campfire with way too much gasoline; and Cooper remembers the time he pushed Griffin into a rogue nail sticking out of the wall during a competitive game of tag, giving Griff a seriously gross gash in his arm. Despite how traumatic those moments must have been, what's most vivid about those memories is everything that happened afterward: Griffin proudly placing those knocked-out teeth under his pillow, dusting the dirt off his jeans and proceeding to serenely roast marshmallows, playing a ferocious game of tag with his arm wrapped in big, fat bandages. Griffin is TOUGH. He’s a champion. And we know he is going to kick cancer's ass… But. Cooper and I, along with our parents, would like to gift Griffin with a little help—anything to make the long battle ahead a little less daunting.
Griffin's projected treatment plan will take 2 and a half years to complete at a healthcare facility 5 hours away from home—we aren't sure when (or if) he will be able to return home during this time. Because the local organizations that provide cancer patients with housing assistance are at maximum capacity, Griffin is having to finance a home away from home. Add this to the medical bills and you have an enormous weight to carry, especially when you are sick. Any and all donations received in Griffin's honor will go directly toward alleviating this weight.
Not two weeks have passed since Griffin received his diagnosis and already he's been subjected to more surgeries, treatments and medical procedures than our entire 5-person family combined. True to form, Griff wears a brave face and maintains a fiercely positive attitude. But it goes without saying that he would be much happier at home working on his most recent screenplay, catching a matinee showing of ‘The Batman,’ or focusing on his psychology studies. At 20 years old, Griff has a lot of life left to live. Please help our family return it to him.
