Gift of Hearing - Mission trip to Yamasá

I am beyond excited to have been given another opportunity to join the Gift of Hearing foundation on their annual Mission trip to Yamasá. 

Impoverished nations like the Dominican Republic see higher rates of disease and infections. Because of the lack of hearing health education in this region, there is a huge prevalence of chronic ear infections and loud noise exposure. This has caused a high incidence of hearing loss, which for the most part has gone untreated.

I believe that hearing is key to maintaining relationships with those we love. Unfortunately this is not a basic ability that everyone has access to. The ability to hear is a gift we should never take for granted. It's how we share our thoughts, feelings, needs, and it's how we learn. 

By providing hearing care services and fitting hearing aids to individuals who otherwise may never have had the opportunity to receive them is an incredibly gratifying and humbling experience.

We strive each year to fundraise for this event, to be able to provide more hearing aids and affect more lives. There is no shortage of worthy people & causes to donate to, but I would appreciate any/all support. 

Any amount, no matter how small you give will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards providing life changing care to people who need it.
