Gig Worker Catalytic Converter Theft Assistance!

Hi.

My name is Jonathan and I am a full time gig economy worker.

On Saturday 8/14/21 my catalytic converter was sawed off from under my van in broad daylight at 11:01 AM while I was around the corner working for a client of mine.

I was in the neighborhood to load up a U-Haul for my client from the app Task Rabbit.

I made $130 on the Task and my work partner was paid for his time too. (Update 8/16: My client tipped me an additional $75 and donated $100 to my GoFundMe)

My van was parked on NE 9th Ave between Alberta and Killingsworth in Portland, Oregon.

When I returned to my vehicle I was startled to discover an explosive sound when I turned the ignition over.

There was a note on my window that read "Your Catalytic Converter Has Been Stolen'.

It took me 4 hours to get things resolved and to wait for the tow truck to arrive.

I had to cancel all upcoming scheduled Tasks and will be unable to work until the repairs are completed.

I did not have comprehensive auto insurance coverage at the time of the theft and therefore will have to pay for all of the repairs myself.

It is very disheartening because like most of us I work really hard for my money and it will take me awhile to make that amount back.

Please help me out.
