Gig Worker Relief Bank

The economic effects of Covid-19 quarantine and business closure are causing hunger and distress among workers in the Gig/Service/Convenience economies.  Those people who entertain us with their music, their theatre, their art, those who drive us home from the event, who serve us coffee and food and bring us meals, who we rely on for all of the conveniences...those who rely on the gig Saturday or the show tomorrow or the server shift tonight to pay the light bill and buy groceries....these people are suffering the most, and have the least resources to persevere. We need to raise money NOW to build a food bank and reserve fund to help these folks who supply so much of the flavor of life to all of us get by and make it. The donations we have raised, and CONTINUE to raise, are making a difference, through Market Sacks of non-perishable groceries and financial assistance grants. We need to raise funds NOW to continue to purchase more stocks and to create a reserve fund. Please contribute - you won't have to spend money on tickets or rides or dining out or that extra latte for the next few weeks. Let's use that saved money to help those who help us live fuller lives.
