Help Gigi Care for Her Sons

Gigi has done nothing but bring love into our world and fight for justice. Feeling called to South Africa early in her life, she served in Soweto (which she did for 10 years, helping establish a church). While there, she fell in love with two babies, who were suffering from debilitating illnesses and end-stage malnutrition. She adopted them and is an example to me of what a mother should be.

While her boys are thriving in some ways, their chronic medical conditions need to be carefully managed and sometimes there are emergencies that require her immediate response. Gigi is doing all that alone, as a single parent and sole provider, and while at the same time continuing to respond in powerful ways, to God's call on her life -- which is to be a minister to those of us suffering from the impact of racialized trauma on our bodies, minds and souls.

She has found that the colonized US health and human services systems are not allies to love and justice, and her situation is quite dire, and so she needs her village to help if we can.
