Gill and Duncan Cairns Hurricane Ian relief

My name is Kate Horrocks; I was visiting my dear friends Gill & Duncan Cairns in Cape Coral, FL, when category 4 Hurricane Ian hit.

After Duncan and Gill retired only two months ago, they moved to Florida full time, and their only home is now gone.

Not only were they impacted by severe flooding, but unfortunately, their house also caught fire, and they lost everything - all their possessions.....gone!

While they navigate this incredibly difficult time with limited insurance, rebuilding and replacing everything, I want to provide what little help we can.

Gill and Duncan will be mortified to know we are doing this. They are hardworking and gracious people who have never asked anybody for anything. So many people have reached out to ask how they can help. Hayley, Katelin and I thought this would be the best way.

And for those who don't know, when it rains, it pours. Gill sadly lost her beloved mother only two weeks earlier.

Please keep them in your thoughts during these two tragic and devastating situations.

All money raised will solely be used to help replace/rebuild. I've set up a separate bank account and all funds will be transferred across to Gill and Duncan via bank transfer or check. Any remaining funds will be donated to the Hurricane Ian disaster fund by Gill and Duncan.
