Gillingham street angels

Hello, we are a small, grassroots charity that assists with local homeless and vulnerable  people to get access to food and essential items. Our work is normally funded by our charity shop in Gillingham & volunteers. In these difficult times we have had to close the shop down to keep our volunteers and customers safe however, demand has tripled. We have been inundated with urgent requests  for food and not just to the homeless but to a wide range of people in desperate need. We are still supplying daily food to those in need in the Medway area, but unless we are able to get funding to cover our basic costs and assistance this will not be sustainable beyond a month. if you could spare a few pound we would be grateful and this is for running costs only for example, our food rounds cost £1000 of diesel. We have had a large number of local businesses who would not be able to trade in the current crisis hand their products and food over to us and that's helped us keep going. The food we buy at a very reduced rate to supply those in need still needs to be bought but in larger quantity and more trips to collect it. We have an impossible position where our income has stopped but our costs have increased significantly along with the climb  in need.

We are here to help and give our time for free. Please help us to continue to meet the needs of our Community and the most vulnerable.

Thank you to those who support us and thank you for taking the time to read this. Stay safe!
