Gill’s 25 Year Anniversary Memorial Bench Renewal

It's hard to believe that on 9th September, 25 years will have passed since we tragically lost our beloved friend Michael (Gilly). In the wake of this, in his remembrance, his friends came together, and a memorial bench was placed in Old Windsor at the site of the accident. Over the years it has provided a lasting memory of him. But time has taken its toll and after many years of weather and wear the bench now needs renewal.

We’d like to use this as an opportunity for his friends to come together again to be able to have a part in its renewing. So that his memory continues to be honoured for the next 25 years. With a bench carrying on providing a memorial and a place of comfort and connection for everyone who visits.

Contributions no matter the size, will go directly towards the cost of the bench. Anything raised over the amount will be donated to, Brake the Road Safety Charity. Who give families specialist emotional and practical support to help them cope with the trauma of a road death.

Getting together, we can continue to feel lucky and proud of our friendship with Michael and ensure that his legacy lives on.

He was truly a special person, taken to soon, greatly loved and missed by all. When the bench is ready to be installed, we can all meet to raise a glass to him.
