Gilroy Senior Football Athlete Tyler Hodges

Hi, our names are Helen, Luz, Delphine, Sherrita, April, Alyssa and many other people from the Gilroy community. We are fundraising for our friend Tyler Hodges, his mom Delsy Hodges and the Hodges family. Tyler is a senior attending GHS who had an amazing personal football season, receiving many end of year awards and making the GSF League All Stars team. It was just 3 weeks ago his family, friends and coaches went to cheer and watch Tyler play in the all star game.

Unfortunately life took a turn when earlier this week Tyler went to the emergency room and found out he required immediate surgery for germ cell tumors. He received the surgery yesterday (1/12/24) and it went well. He is still in the hospital but Delsy said they are hoping he gets to go home today. Unfortunately that's not the end of it. Tyler will need chemotherapy so his battle is not done yet.

During this time I think we can all agree that finances should be the last thing the family has to worry about. Tyler has been an incredible asset to Gilroy and GHS Football beyond just his amazing athletic abilities. He has had such an amazing impact on many teammates with his kindness, encouraging words, tough love, passionate love of the game that is contagious to others around him, his drive and his positivity. If anyone can take this diagnosis head on and with determination - it's Tyler.

So now - we hope the Gilroy community can help make this incredible financial burden a little easier on the family while they help Tyler recover and handle his upcoming treatments.
