Gina Small

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am helping Gina, Othy and Gina's girls raise money to get Gina back into her home. A place where she feels her best and will hopefully make the road to recovery a bit smoother. There are many bills, costs and unforeseen circumstances for the future. A little of what happened to Gina:

On Friday, March 3rd, 2023, Gina suffered a large hemorrhage stroke. Her daughter found her in her home after she failed to show up for work that morning. She was rushed to Valley Medical Center where soon after she was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a chunk of her skull to relieve the building pressure from the bleeding in her brain.

We were told this surgery had many risks and there was a chance she would not make it or not come out of the surgery as herself. Gina is a mom and a hero to her children. She raised them to be as strong as she has always been. We held onto our hope that she would make it out of the operating room. Beating the odds, she survived her surgery and went on to stay in the hospital for the rest of the month.

Luckily, her memory and speech remain, however, she has been left with no voluntary movement on her left side. Immediately after her stay in the hospital, she was transferred to UW Medical Center for inpatient physical therapy for an additional month.

In May, she was discharged from UW Medical to her parents’ home in Lake Stevens. She has not been approved to move back into her home due to it being a 3-story townhome and her unable to walk on her own up and down the stairs.

The solution to this is for her to have a chair to assist her in going up and down the stairs. Unfortunately, this is not a cost that her insurance will cover. She has since lost her job, and her medical leave has run out. With no income and no savings, this has been an extremely stressful time for her family. What she wants most is to be able to go back to the comfort of her home, and any donation to help get her there would be so much appreciated.
