In Loving Memory of Gina V.K. Lechuga

Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is Niki and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Gina’s daughters, Arja and Aliesha.

Gina was a single mother of two daughters, one which lived with her. She had a wonderful son-in-law, one grandson who was the light and joy of her life (who she saw almost every day of the week), and a granddaughter due to be born in May.
Gina worked full time at The Boutique in Mchenry Village where she truly enjoyed her passion for fashion and customizing outfits and wardrobes for her clients.
On December 15th, Gina was told to go to the emergency room due to a horrible migraine. While there, they discovered her kidneys were only functioning at fifteen percent and she was admitted for further testing. There was a complication during the suggested kidney biopsy which resulted in a severe internal bleed. Gina was brought into the ICU and underwent two emergency surgeries, one of which was an extremely invasive abdominal surgery, in order to save her life. She was also given multiple blood transfusions, intubated and medically unconscious for five days the week of Christmas.
When Gina’s family received the results from the biopsy they had been patiently waiting for, they were told not enough tissue was retrieved and that the results came back inconclusive. This meant they would need to perform the procedure again. It was then, the family made the decision Gina should be transferred to Sutter Sacramento where they would perform a second kidney biopsy. During her time at Sutter Sacramento, her kidneys continued to fail and the doctors advised to start Dialysis. Gina was then transferred back to Modesto. By January 15th, she was sent to a rehabilitation center to continue her recovery with the goal to walk again and eventually be sent home.
Gina continued to stay positive and driven to get home one day. She was transported by wheelchair to her three and a half hour long dialysis treatments three times a week. The treatments caused her to feel very ill, weak and lethargic.
Gina was again sent to the hospital on April 3rd due to fluid on her lungs and not being able to breathe. They performed a procedure to remove the fluid and also did a dialysis treatment. Two hours later Gina was very ill, nonverbal and thought to have sepsis. At this point her daughters had to make the difficult decision to place Gina in hospice. Her daughters stayed with her day and night by her side and held her hand until the very end. Gina passed away on April 10th.
I am reaching out to the community to help support Gina’s family during this extremely difficult time. Gina financially took care of her daughter that lived with her, her other daughter is self employed and is about to go on maternity leave and her son-in-law recently lost his job due to a work related injury.
With so many questions unanswered, the unfortunate and unexpected events that occurred to Gina have now left the family with the expense of medical bills and funeral arrangements. They truly appreciate any donation that you can to help alleviate these financial burdens and give them more time to grieve their tremendous loss.
Thank you in advance for each and every donation.
