Gina's Battle Against Breast Cancer

As many of you already know, on February 17, 2022, Gina was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. From that day forward, her life would never be the same again. She started chemotherapy on March 7th, going every three weeks for treatment. She had a few bumps in the road along the way, such as an infection in her veins, a stomach bug, kidney stones, and a neutropenic fever that landed her in the hospital for a few days! She kept powering through all of this while caring for her two children as a single mother AND running her own business. She worked extra hours to make up for the weeks she would miss due to chemo. It was not an easy road, but she completed her six rounds and succeeded with the tumors shrinking in size, thank God!

Now that chemo is over, she is getting ready for phase two: a double mastectomy on August 4th, followed by radiation and second surgery for reconstruction in early 2023. Unfortunately for Gina, she will need to be out of work for a total of 16 weeks with both surgeries. Gina is self-employed, so if she doesn’t work, she doesn’t get paid. This will cause a tremendous financial strain on her and her family, making a difficult time even more stressful. We are starting this GoFundMe to help with the unexpected medical bills she will undoubtedly have and to help carry her through the weeks she cannot work. It’s not going to be easy, and she still has a long road ahead of her, but with your help and generosity, it will be one less thing she needs to worry about while she’s recuperating!
