Ginger and Bunny

Ginger is a 5-year old greyhound rescue who was attacked May 29th by an off-leash dog (pitbull). She had to go to the emergency veterinarian and get stitches for her wounds. Her owner, Bunny, was also wounded during the attack and had to go to the ER herself for a rabies vaccine. Bunny is a good friend of mine and is already dealing with financial stress from being unable to find jobs that will accommodate her ADHD. She’s not sure how she’s going to manage her current job and staying home to take care of Ginger while they both heal. This campaign is meant to cover the costs of both their emergency room visits and help Bunny with cost of living for the next couple of weeks.

From Bunny: “Hey everyone. I'm in desperate need of help. On May 29th around 7:30pm, I was walking my greyhound, Ginger, on her leash by a park and an off leash pit bull ran up to us and latched on to Ginger's neck and would not let go. I spent over 2 minutes punching this dog in the face, trying to yank the dog's mouth open to get it to let go, which resulted in me getting bitten. I rushed Ginger to the ER where she had to go to surgery and get 8 stitches for the chunk of skin the pit bull ripped from her neck. She's on bed rest for 2 weeks and the bill is very high. I went to the ER with lacerations, puncture wounds, and swollen knuckles. I had to get 5 rabies shots, a tetanus shot, and then I need to get 3 more booster shots over the next few days.

The owner of the pit bull refused to give me any of her contact info or any info about the dog, like if it is up to date on shots. I'm trying my best to locate her, but the chances of us finding her are slim.

I'm disabled and unable to work my part time in person job because of this.

It was so traumatizing and I'm still very shaken, especially since it happened right in front of where I live.”
