Giovanni Labatore

On Thursday September 14th my younger brother, Giovanni, took his own life. There aren’t any words to truly express the grief that myself, and our entire family + loved ones are feeling. After being stabilized at Holmes Medical Center, he was transported to The Walt Disney Children’s Wing at Advent Health in Orlando. We have spent every day at his side, and have thankfully been able to get into a room at The Ronald McDonald House.

The past few days have been filled with countless hours spent in the hospital praying, and talking to the doctors. With that, I have taken off work to be here and be with him while the doctors worked to try to save him. Giovanni was a part of my home, and after this tragedy we are looking to move into a new home to start fresh. I am asking for help to cover not just expenses for the day to day - since I’ve been missing work and bills still come - expenses to cover costs related to moving, and costs related to medical expenses. I am also asking for costs to cover memorial services for Giovanni to celebrate the wonderful life he had and the amazing person he is.

Those who know my brother and I well know that he is my best friend in the entire universe. This loss has shaken me, and those who know us know just how close my brother and I are.

Giovanni was a wonderful brother, uncle, nephew, grandson and friend. He loved to fish, and spent so much of his free time on the water. Giovanni loved his siblings, and his nephew. He was a wonderful uncle and loved to make his nephew laugh.

To Giovanni, you are so loved and cherished.
