Help with Baby Conrad's Care

Meet Conrad. A sweet, chunky and extremely lovable baby boy. His bright blue eyes and winning smile draw everyone he meets to him. In September of 2014, Conrad came down with a cough that grew increasingly worse rather than better. After taking their 7-month-old to see his pediatrician and being told to go get an x-ray, Conrad's parents, Paul and Victoria were told that his blood test results were "confusing". After a phone consultation on the blood work, the staff at UCSF Children's Hospital told them to pack their bags, drive 3 hours and check-in that night. After a grueling wait and more blood work, Paul and Victoria were confronted with every parents' worst nightmare -- their son has a very rare form of Leukemia called JMML.
Only 25 to 30 kids in North America are diagnosed with JMML per year and the cure rate is less than 50%. After a 2-week stay in the hospital, Conrad and his parents were released to go home and continue administering a light dose of chemo every day with a weekly check-up in San Francisco (3 hour round trip drive from their home). So far, this sweet little boy has been a trooper!
Soon Conrad will undergo a bone marrow transplant which is the only known cure for this disease. Conrad will be hospitalized three weeks before his transplant in order to receive intensive chemotherapy. During this time, Conrad and his parents will be isolated to ensure that he does not get exposed to other germs or diseases. Since Conrad does not have a sibling, which would be the best chance of perfect match for him, his doctors are combing the bone marrow transplant donor database to find a suitable match -- a great match has not yet been found. Please join us in prayer for Conrad!
Paul and Victoria are broken-hearted and doing all that they can to provide the best care possible for Conrad. Paul is the owner of a tree and landscape service and is working hard to keep up with the business in order to be able to cover the ever-increasing medical expenses for Baby Conrad let alone their normal living expenses. Imagine how stressful it would be to see each bill arrive in the mail only to know it is just the beginning of what will end up being a very large amount. Please help to alleviate some of the stress in this awful situation by giving money to help with Conrad's current and future care!
