Girl Guide 2024 Norway Jamboree

Hello, my name is Charlie and I've been selected to participate in Roverway 2024, an exciting Scout/Guide event taking place in Stavanger, Norway.
Roverway brings together Scouts and Guides aged 16-22 from all over Europe, providing a unique opportunity for personal growth and skill development.
By joining this event, I'll meet like-minded individuals from various countries, deepen my cultural understanding, enhance my leadership abilities, and engage in thrilling outdoor activities.
It is going to be a very busy time in the first half of 2024. As well as trying to fund raise for this trip, I will also be sitting my A levels in May/June. So, I am starting my fund raising now, to give me plenty of time to get the funds together!
Over the next year I will be doing many things in preparation for the trip and will be attempting to raise money by selling products and possibly doing other activities.
Any support will be greatly appreciated, and any funds collected will go towards paying for the travel, equipment, kit, food, training/preparation, and anything else I will need that is included in the costs of the experience.
Roverway 2024 is not just an adventure; it's a chance to make lifelong connections and become a more confident person. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to embark on this journey.
I have been able to do amazing things with the Guides and Rangers and have loved my time with them. I have especially enjoyed the camping that I have done. Up until this trip, my Guide camping experience has always been in the UK and, in recent years, it has been limited by Covid. A few years ago, I was chosen for a Guide Jamboree to Poland but it was cancelled due to Covid. I can't wait to attend Roverway next year and meet Scouts and Guides from all over Europe.
A bit about the trip....
The Roverway trip will occur from Monday 22 July to Monday 5 August 2024, Norway
During the first five days, participants will explore a 'path' in locations such as Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Aalesund. Patrols will choose their path with options to suit everyone, from adventurous to cultural and creative.
The UK patrols will join patrols from other countries to complete their chosen path, under the supervision of a Path Leader, International Service Team (IST) and Norwegian Scout Groups.
One of the highlights of Roverway is the opportunity for young people to truly shape their experience – and the paths will cater for many different interests.
At the end of the 5 days, all the patrols join a large camp near Stavanger. Stavanger is often called 'the gateway to the fjords', and its location on the west coast affords it access to some of Norway’s most iconic scenery.
The camp is a chance to share stories from their paths and to take part in a programme of activities with young people from across Europe and beyond.
The final part of Roverway is the post-event, which sees the UK Contingent come together for a shared and unique experience. After catching the overnight ferry to Denmark, the UK group will have 2 days to explore the capital city, Copenhagen, before flying home at the end of the trip.
