Girl Guiding event in Kokrobite, Ghana.

Hi! I’m Sarah, and I’ve been volunteering in Kokrobite, Ghana, for the past two months, teaching in local schools. During my time here, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible spirit and potential of the children, but I’ve also seen the challenges they face, especially when it comes to accessing activities outside their community.
I’m organising a funfair-style event for the Girl Guides here in Kokrobite, an exciting day full of games, activities, and opportunities to explore and learn. From sports and arts and crafts to dancing and more, our Girl Guiding extravaganza will feature a wide array of activities for every child!
I recently had the pleasure of joining a Girl Guides event at the University of Ghana in Accra where I saw the joy of hundreds of children who had the opportunity to participate in a day full of fun and empowerment. It was inspiring to see how the event brought together young girls, fostering a sense of community, confidence, and camaraderie. However, due to financial constraints, the majority of young people in Kokrobite will not have the chance to participate in such an event. Therefore, we are seeking your assistance to organize our own Girl Guiding event here in Kokrobite.
Ghana Girl Guides Association (GGGA) aims to empower girls and young women as many face barriers to education, leadership opportunities, and personal growth. The GGGA provides a platform for girls to develop self-confidence, leadership skills, and resilience, which are essential for their personal and professional growth. Empowered girls are more likely to pursue their dreams, challenge societal norms, and become agents of change. GGGA’s mission is to combat gender inequality and provide girls with the equal opportunity to thrive and lead. Hence why our Kokrobite Girl Guides event will be incredibly valued.
The funds you contribute will be directly allocated to cover:
- Event facilitation and coordination expenses
- Food and beverages for volunteers and participants
- Materials for activities such as face painting, games, music, and dance
By supporting this campaign, you will have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people in Kokrobite, promoting gender equality and fostering community development. Our event will be designed to empower those with the skills and confidence necessary to create a ripple of positive change in their lives and communities! Your generosity will ensure that no one is excluded, allowing every child to experience the joy and benefits of this enriching event.
I am incredibly grateful for any contribution as it will all make a difference. Your goodwill and kindness will provide these amazing children with an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much for your support!
