Empowering Women's Brain Health: Building the First Sex and Gender Research Institute Worldwide

We're on a mission to establish the world's first Sex and Gender Research Institute, and we need your support. Neurological diseases affect women more than men, impacting the health of women today and tomorrow, and understanding why is crucial.

If the brains of men and women functioned identically, the Women's Brain Foundation wouldn't exist or seek funding. Conditions like migraines and Parkinson's disease would affect both sexes uniformly. Unfortunately, women face higher rates of brain and mental health disorders, multiple sclerosis, depression and endure more adverse drug reactions, compounded by longer lifespans and prolonged suffering from neurological diseases.

Globally, 450 million people grapple with neurological or mental health disorders, with a majority being women, a number equal to the combined populations of the United States and Mexico.

For seven years, the Women's Brain Project, an international non-profit (changed to Women's Brain Foundation in March 2024), has tirelessly raised awareness and generated scientific evidence about sex-based differences. Over 120 scientific and policy papers have addressed these issues, but understanding why Alzheimer's predominantly affects women or why depression diagnoses skew towards women requires extensive research.

Your support is crucial as funds raised will contribute to establishing the world's first Sex and Gender Research Institute, the primary mission of the Women's Brain Foundation. By supporting us, you're investing in the health of the women of today and those who will follow.

Had the scientific community focused on sex-based differences from the beginning, we wouldn't be reaching out for financial assistance. Unfortunately, it's only in recent years that these distinctions have been acknowledged. We now seek your support to delve into the why and, once uncovered, develop personalized therapies.

Let's raise 1.000.000 CHF by the International Women's Day on March 8th 2024. Your contribution, whether it's 10 euros, 5 dollars, 100 pounds, or 20 Swiss francs, matters to us. Equally important, help us spread the word about the Women's Brain Foundation, and its crucial mission to establish the first Sex and Gender Research Institute Worldwide.

Together we can empower the health of women today, and unravel the mysteries of neurological diseases of tomorrow.

Please donate and please share today, for the good of all of us.
