Girls On Track-Help us get Started!

Donation protected
Help Girls on Track get started by raising the money we need to register as a 501c3 charity.

Did you know? By age 14, girls are dropping out of sports at twice the rate of boys. We think that statistic stinks.

Now, more than ever, we need to lift up our young women. Sport is just one avenue for building confidence and leadership skills, but it’s one that we really believe in.

We created the Girls on Track Foundation to improve access to, and awareness of roller derby, so we can keep girls playing through their teens. We've put together an amazing group of women from around the world to help achieve this mission.

Roller Derby is an inclusive, alternative sport with a positive culture of participation, fun, and empowerment for girls and women. Participation in sports like this helps girls develop confidence, leadership, and other life skills that can have lifelong benefits for the athletes and their communities.

How are we planning to achieve all this epic empowerment?

We will be raising money through corporate sponsorships, grants, and fundraising drives, and then distributing the money to programs that help improve access and awareness for junior derby, particularly for girls aged 12-18. These recipients might be small community leagues, or bigger, international events. Derby is an global movement, and we intend to support it in all corners.

Here’s where you come in. Before we can really start raising money from US corporate donors, or doing major fund drives within the derby community, we need to get Girls on Track set up as a charitable organization, a 501c3. This will allow us to make future donations tax-deductible, and ensure that the organization is held to the highest standards for financial management.

We have a roller-derby-playing lawyer ready to help us file all the paperwork, but since we’re just getting started, we don’t have the $3500 (USD) it may cost us to cover the legal and filing costs.

So we’re asking for your help, to join this movement and help get more Girls On Track. If everyone watching this could give $5, we would be on our way, bringing derby to even more girls in your communities.

We want to raise up these young women, and give them the chance to learn and grow from this sport as much as we have. If we raise more than our goal, we will absolutely direct every penny back toward programs for girls in roller derby.

Thank you for your support. We can’t wait to keep you up to speed on our progress launching this Foundation, so please sign up for our email list. We’ll send you occasional updates on what we’re doing. Thank you for watching. And thank you for helping to raise up girls and women.
