Girls Skate Day 2020 Funraiser

International Girls Skate Day 2020 needs your help!
We are a movement for often disenfranchised skaters (girls/women/non-binary/non-dudes) to support one another by skating on the same day in solidarity, regardless of where they live/shred in the world!
In April 2019, we launched the first International Girls Skate Day and the Girls Skate Day digital map ! This map allows skaters, skate shops, and supporters to register and place a pin on our Google map allowing skaters (from all around the world) to connect. Our goals are to invite girls, women, and non-binary people to shred, to help them connect with one another, and to encourage them to build their own communities. All ages/skill levels are encouraged to participate!
Last year we had events in Boston and Worcester, MA (USA), Montpellier (France), and Kathmandu (Nepal). Some things we offered at last year’s events: free lessons, free skateboard rentals, free raffle (w/ boards donated by OneGig <3), and a talk about the Neuroscience of Skateboarding given by one of our organizers in collaboration with the Cambridge Science Festival .
International GSD 2020 will take place on Saturday, April 18th, 2020!
We’d love to have your support in making GSD 2020 as far reaching and inclusive as possible! Our events are always free to the public. Can you help us?
International Girls Skate Day is made possible by;
Papercut Zine Library and friends, ERA, Sciencepunx, NeuroBoston & community support from people like you!
