If you knew that girls in your own community were missing school for a health issue you'd feel bad, right? What if you found out the health issue was a result of their simply not being able to afford the most basic of products? You’d want to help.  We know you would.

That is the case with girls, and women, in communities all over the country, who can't afford feminine hygiene products, which are not covered by the SNAP (food stamp) program.

Feminine hygiene products costs each woman about $70 a year. Maybe that’s not so much for any of us. But for a woman or family that is already struggling to get by, $70 is simply an impossibility. And that’s heart breaking. Basic care products should not be considered “luxury items.” This is a matter of health. And dignity.

We are two sisters who formed a volunteer group called Small Acts in 2014 to help wherever there is a need.  And we found one here!  Every penny we receive from this campaign will go directly to purchasing products for women and girls in need.  Our goal is to fund 100 people for one year, so that they simply don't have to stress out about their periods (at least financially!)

We're calling this effort: “Girls Helping Girls. Period.” And you actually don’t have to be a girl to help! Donate here.  Or contact us if you’d like to be involved in spreading the word.
