Gisela (Chella) Ruiz
Donation protected
On June 10, 2022, a car ran a stop sign on 54th and Merrimac in Chicago, IL, and struck a vehicle with two young ladies, Ana and Rosita, inside. Upon impact, the car turned over and was totaled. Neighbors rushed to the horrific scene to assist the girls. While paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene, a good Samaritan contacted the girls' mothers (Gisela and Patricia). Unfortunately, when Gisela arrived to check on her daughter, upon seeing the damage, she went into shock-induced cardiac arrest. Her family stood by her side for five days, hoping she would regain consciousness. Sadly, all medical efforts were in vain. Gisela suffered severe brain damage and was removed from life support on June 15, 2022.
Gisela leaves behind four children. She has been a resident of the Clearing neighborhood for 20 years. She has been the sole provider for her children (two of whom have special needs) after losing her husband to cancer in 2018. Now, her children are left without their parents and are struggling to handle her funeral expenses. We would greatly appreciate any donations in this time of need.
Her visitation is this Sunday, June 19, 2022, 4:00-8:00 PM, at Foran Funeral Home in Summit, IL.
