Gisela Herrera’s Fight
Donation protected
Ok, so some of you may know my sweet superhero sister-in-law Gisela and her family. They need our help!
Gisela was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia back in September of 2016. She underwent a stem cell transplant in January 2017 after months of chemo and radiation to get her body ready for the transplant. And although it was a successful transplant (thank you to the donor!), some patients acquire what is called chronic Graph Versus Host Disease (GVHD). I won’t get into the details of the horrible side affects of the transplant, just please know that Gisela is once again fighting for her life.
This disease has left her unable to work since September of 2016. She has had to endure numerous visits to the ER and many lengthy hospital stays. Her health has slowly deteriorated over the years and has left her bed ridden. We are asking for any help you can give - even if it’s $5 - to help offset the mounting medical costs and home care. Not only are we asking for donations, we are hoping that when we share with Gisela the number of family and friends and strangers that are rooting for her; she will get a renewed boost of strength in her fight. So even if you can only donate $1, we want to be able to get as many “hits” as possible to raise her spirits. Can you imagine the strength and courage it takes to fight for 3 years? She’s getting this drive from her 9 year old Maximo, 8 year old Camila and 3 year old Franco and husband Ben. Thank you for reading about Gisela and her journey.
