Eco-Green School Mbogolo is now 5 years old with a total enrollment of 215 pupils, and 7 teachers, respectively of ages 6-15 years and serves three villages in the area. The school in a semi-arid areas that experiences dry weather for the most part of the year. This affects the community because the heat is intense and the livestock have to wander around in search of pasture. During this time, most families can only eat one basic meal a day. The children suffer most and sometimes are not able to go to school everyday.
Provision of lunch in school is very significant to the well being of the children. It nourishes their health and enables them to concentrate in class and promotes education.
We are asking for your help in feeding the children for lunch. Their meal consists of rice, beans and vegetables. The meal is healthy. When children feed together, they learn to share and care for each other. This is a virtue that is inculcated at a young age and as such is useful in the world which is increasingly becoming a selfish den. The school runs for 8 months in a year with 3 breaks after every three months. The academic year begins in January. We appreciate any support you could give, thanks a lot!
