Hello.

Our beautiful Father sadly passed away on 18th June 2024, after a 24 day fighting battle since collapsing due to a Brain Aneurism and stroke. He was showing good progress, and the doctors stated that he is continuing to surprise them, from what can only be described as 'the worst damage the brain could possibly receive'.
My dad managed to open his eyes after one week, and say one or two words, and we were fortunate to witness him telling my mum "I love you". He also reacted to our voices, including his beloved Granddaughter; Luna.
Despite the progress, Giuseppe unfortunately suffered further strokes during the night, which ultimately caused too much damage to an already severe brain haemorrhage. My dad was still fighting at this point, moving his legs, and trying his best to obey staff commands, but sadly the damage was too severe, and he passed away with us by his side till the very end.
Giuseppe migrated to Essex, England in 1988, from Napoli, Italy, where he grew up. He was a hard worker, a self-less, caring, passionate Italian man who I would genuinely call my best friend. Each year we would go to Napoli together, and stay with my Grandmother and Aunties, and I am so proud to have such strong family connections in Italy.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His spirituality and constant drive to be a better man is something that will always stick with me. He is our hero. His faith has always inspired me, even in moments where life would test my faith. He is undoubtedly, the reason I am who I am today.
He served in the Navy in Napoli, and went on to become a semi-professional boxer, till he met my darling Mother, who managed to tone him down a little, (fair play to her), and bring him to England where they raised a family, and a family who completely adored him. He was a talented plasterer and builder, working on houses across the UK and building strong connections with those who met him.
9 years ago, he made the move to Cornwall with my Mother, pursuing their dream of a slower pace of life, surrounded by nature, friendship, family, and their faith. We are utterly heartbroken that at 60 years old, his time on this earth is up, but we are all confident we will be reunited with him again.

As a family, from the bottom of our hearts, if you can contribute anything, which will all go toward funeral and memorial costs, it would be such a huge help toward giving Giuseppe Manfredi the best send off he deserves.
