Give 400 Tanzanian girls access to toilets
Hagati Secondary School, where I taught for two years in Tanzania, is in need of new toilets for their female students.
As Hagati grows in size, they are faced with the challenge of providing nearly 400 of their female students with access to enough toilets. As a result, they are planning to build two structures with eight toilet pits, install water systems, and build a waste disposal tunnel for girls to be able to properly dispose of menstrual pads. Hagati's estimated budget for this project is $1,500 USD. Through in-kind donations of materials and labor, Hagati and the surrounding community is able to contribute $400 USD (just over 25% of the total cost). I am looking for the support of friends and family to fill the gap of $1,100 USD.
Hagati has promised to ensure that all resources and financial support are used effectively and efficiently, while also sending feedback to show the progress of the project. After finishing the construction of the project, the community and the school will have the means to maintain upkeep through regular cleaning of the buildings and replacing broken water pipes and joints.
This project will be managed by four teachers at Hagati and the school board chairperson. And, "on behalf of all members, we thank you in advance toward any effort that is going to be done to ensure this project is taking place to rescue the girls’ future life."
