Give a mom and her son transportation

Hi, my name is Syrena and I’m fundraising for a transmission install for my car. In October I was driving to drop my son off at the sitters house. The freeway was busy as heck per usual in Portland. The woman driving in front of me wasn’t close to the cars stopping 20-30 feet ahead and without notice came to a complete and hard stop. I hit my breaks but they didn’t lock so my car was still sliding. Luckily the truck in the next lane saw what was happening and stopped immediately and waved me over so I could avoid collision with the woman who had stopped. When the cars started moving again very slowly I knew something was wrong as my car wouldn’t shift till I reached high rpm’s and when it shifted it would slam into gear jerking the car severely. I had just had some things fixed in my car at AAMCO including the breaks. I had thought there was an issue with the transmission so when I went in the first time I had told them if the transmission is bad I won’t be getting any work done. Hindsight is 2020. Of course they told me the transmission was great and I just needed a couple thousand done in work. When this happens I knew they had played me. Being a young single mom who’s desperate for a car I trusted what they said. I had only had my car back from them for two weeks when the issue started on the freeway. I pulled off the freeway and up to a gas station where I was given the suggestion to go to good neighbor tire just a half block away. When I got there they were so kind and did everything they could to make sure I knew exactly what needed to be done. How much each part cost and how much time would be needed for the labor and the price of said labor. After putting lots of money in the car for little things previously I didn’t know how I’d manage to get a transmission and pay for the work. My car stayed there 44 days and I got fired from my job because I had no way to get my son to the sitters and get to work on time taking the bus. I had no stable way of making the money so I turned in cans, borrowed a friends car, and did odd jobs . I purchased a used transmission off of the internet and on December 21st it went out. My friend who’s car I had barrowed moved back to Idaho so that option (which had saved me last time) is no longer an option.I just had surgery ( salpingectomy) so I had my mother in town ( she lives in Idaho) I was dropping my mom off at the airport so she could return home. As I pulled away from the airport my car just stopped shifting correctly and I was lucky to pull into the 7 11 nearby. Because it was so close to Christmas towing was very expensive but a kind gentleman allowed me to park it in his workshop. When I finally could get the car towed to the mechanic shop it was discovered that the internal pump in the transmission was shot. I have a 90-day warranty on the transmission and I still have until January 15th for that warranty. They will send me a new transmission but they do not cover the labor amount. I am a single mom living in tualatin OR and I don’t have family in the area. I haven’t been working due to the original time the transmission broke down and the surgery I just had. I have been door-dashing to keep up with my financial needs. Now that I don’t have a car I can’t do anything to cover life expenses let alone make the money for the installation. I’ve exhausted all my resources and even reached out to DHS for some help. I can’t even make it to job interviews, doctor appointments or grocery shopping. I haven’t been cleared from my doctor yet due to a possible infection.I am struggling and all this has led to me having to ask others for help. I don’t have any other options. I am asking only for whatever you can afford whether that be five dollars or 100. I have included a screenshot of the pricing and required pricing and would like to inform you I’ve asked for a little bit larger amount due to fees to pull off of go fund me and fees to transfer to the bank. I’d like to thank everyone for their donations and to the people who can’t donate I just ask that you share this with everyone you know! The longer my car is at the shop the more expensive it gets. I am waiting only for the shipment of the transmission then I will have had to come up with the total amount. Thank you everyone! I’ve shared the estimate I received and only hid personal information. I’ve done this to show proof and to be transparent with everyone. At this time I have $200 of my own money and have received $217 ($225 minus the fees)from donations. You may also donate to my cash app ($misskitty1234567) please write donation in the for section. Your time, donations and shares are greatly appreciated!!
