Help a Teacher Buy her First Home

Ann Trent is a kindergarten teacher in Ahwatukee (Phoenix), Arizona. She has lived and worked in Ahwatukee for over 25 years. As a member of the Ahwatukee community, she has been a part of her church, school, and many local groups. Ann has always been passionate about caring for others. She is always the first to offer a meal for a struggling family, her home for friends to gather, a sympathy card for a colleague, and countless other selfless acts.
As a single mom of two amazing kids and a public school teacher, Ann has had to put home ownership on hold for many years due to financial struggles. She also tutors students in grades K-5 every day after school, weekends, and all summer to make ends meet.
Ann is applying for a grant that helps low-mid income earners buy a home. The grant helps with down payment, lower interest rate and closing costs. This GoFundMe will enable her to do a buy down and qualify her to purchase the home she has been renting for 5 years while still having manageable mortgage payments. Ann's lease expires soon and the homeowner wants to sell the home, so she needs to buy a home as soon as possible. Ann has checked into rentals, but the cost of renting exceeds her budget, and owning a home is actually more affordable with the help of this grant.
The home she wishes to purchase is 30 years old, has 3 bedrooms and original interior. It’s not fancy, but it’s in a great location and has been her family's home for 5 years, so she would love the stability for her children. She also tutors locally and needs to stay in the area to be able to keep her tutoring business, which makes ends meet each month.
Ann has never owned a home and has always thought that homeownership for her felt about as remote of a possibility as going to the moon.
We are praying for a miracle. Thank you for your generosity and for sharing far and wide to help Ann and her family buy their first home.
