Give Abd and his family in Gaza a safe future

Hi. My name is Danny Norrington-Davies and I’d like to introduce you to Abd and his family. I was introduced to Abd through the incredible work of the Hands Up Project, www.handsupproject.org, a charity which connects children from around the world with children in Palestine. Abd was active in HUP and has a keen interest in theatre. I first saw him perform as the Genie in the play ‘No more, no Less’, which was created by him and pupils and teachers 3 years ago at El Qarara prep school for boys. Abd is an intelligent, enthusiastic, and creative student and as you can see in his message below, he just wants the same things every young person wants - to be safe, to continue his education and have hopes and dreams for the future. Since meeting him I have been so impressed by his courage, passion and positivity, and I hope we can help him achieve his dreams and reach safety with his family. I will pass you over to Abd to tell you more.

"I am an 17-year- old student with a good academic record and many different hobbies and interests, and I enjoy taking part in local and international projects like the Hands Up Project. I really enjoy acting and the theatre and the powerful messages that can be delivered through plays and preforming. I started acting at school when I was 14 years old. My other passions are programming and coding and I used my digital skills to win a high rank in the ‘Mena Catalas’ contest designing a site for selling hand crafts for Palestinian women.

My dream was to finish high school and then continue to higher education but since the war began, we have lost our home and our neighbourhood and my father’s workspace. We have also lost two of my uncles. In one of the images above, you can also see my school. This is where my dreams were, but my dreams have been destroyed".

I am suffering from bad health condition because we cannot get clean water or medical supplies and I have severe hearing issues due to the horrible bombing near where we stay in the displacement area where I live with my family. We have been ordered to move twice. It is freezing at night and boiling during the day, and it is 2km to the nearest water.

We ask for your help to help us evacuate from Gaza to Egypt. Your generosity can be the lifeline that saves my family. I’m thankful for your support and kindness. You’re giving my family the chance to live away from stress and the chance to live a normal life",

Abd’s family includes his parents, 3 sisters and his big brother. We are hoping to raise enough money to give safe passage to them all and to bring safety and peace to their lives. Please join us in this cause to help Abd and his family find refuge and hope.

We are aware that the current situation is ever changing. In the hope that things change for the better and safe passage is no longer required the funds raised will be passed to Abd’s family to help them rebuild their future in the best way possible with the resources they have to hand.
