Give Back to Jack

Like many of you know, Jack is the face of Mia Pizza at the Grimes Hy-Vee. Before working at the Grimes location Jack also worked at the downtown Hy-Vee for years as well. Jack enjoys interacting with his customers and co-workers and always finds a way to bring a smile to their faces. For years, Jack has been a dedicated employee, biking most of the time to and from work even in Iowa's unpredictable weather. When Jack isn't riding his bike, he is probably reading a book, checking out a good movie, or catching a ball game downtown at his favorite spot.

Jack was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS is a rare, fatal neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.
