Help Bashar & his Family Survive War in Gaza

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Yanti and I am helping Bashar Said Abo Samak and his family in Gaza to evacuate hopefully in time before the inevitable get to them. I got to know Bashar through mutual contact during the turmoil happening in Palestine. He is a very soft spoken boy who deserves a chance to have a chance to complete his education and experience a stable life instead of getting caught in this political agenda.

Bashar would like to evacuate out of Gaza however should situation not permit that, he will be using the funds to sustain their living in Gaza, rebuilding everything that has been lost during this war.

Funds will be creditted into my credit union afterwhich I will remit it to Bashar via his preferred method.

Please read on to know more about Bashar.

My name is Bashar Said Abo Samak. I am a 22 year old university student in 4th year studying Information Technology and Information Security. Upon graduating, I would had been able to get a job, fall in love and get married. I was good at playing football and had even considered becoming a professional football player once. Alas, that is all now a forgotten dream due to the conflict we are put through in Gaza.

Memories from a while ago...life before war took away our joy...

Before war, where childhood memories can be created...

I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. My family and I are now displaced from Khan Younis to Rafah. Our home had been bombed and flatten to the ground during the invasion and we are now living with 29 others in a half demolished home of my uncle. The 30 of us are sharing 2 bedrooms to sleep, eat and shelter with little to no privacy.

Our home is no more...

We escaped our home in Khan Younis with nothing except for whatever we had on. I was just in my simple t-shirt, pants and slippers. No shoes, no change of clothes nothing that prepared us the harsh reality that the war had dragged us into.

The war dragged on to winter. We were not prepared for the grueling cold temperature. Unlike the previous times, we did not anticipate this war to drag on for this long. Situation was harsh and the destruction is massive. From buildings to life, many were destroyed and matryr. Children, women, men, young, old no one was spared. Death is daily news, illness and starvation is the next bestfriend.

I had to share whatever little clothes we can afford with my 3 other brothers. We had to rotate jacket and clothes. One time I will be in cold and on other time one of my brother is the one bearing the cold weather. It was only till recently that I manage to afford a pair of shoes to keep my feet warm this winter.

Ramadhan during the war...this was not how it was meant to be....

Memories from life before the war...

Food become scarce. With little to no aid given, everything became a big struggle. My dad lost his job during this war, my school was destroyed. We had lost everything, no income, no warmth, no future. We barely had anything to eat and whatever we can find it will be shared among 30 of us. We cannot find meat and had to rely on canned food thats filled with preservatives to keep living. If there is any fresh food it will be costly and we cannot afford that. We are all under nourished, tired and living in fear and despair day in day out.

Everyday we had to travel long distance to get some water that we had to pay for. Nothing is free right now. This water we pay for is not even meeting the minimum requirement of clean water standard. We have to use this water sparingly for both cooking and hygiene purposes. This is not living! Is this all that we deserve?

My mind and body can no longer take this torment much longer. I hope to appeal for your kind generosity to help me get out of this situation so that I can focus on rebuilding my life so that I can save my family. I plan to complete my studies, find a job and help my dad rebuild our family home that the occupation had destroyed. It took him years to save up to provide us a home and it was destroyed in seconds, just like that. I wish for us a better life and to pursuit a dream that seem to only be achievable outside of this prison. I appreciate you for taking your time to read my story. Thank you.
