Help Bear get the second chance at life he deserves

Hello!

My name is Noah and we are raising funds for our rescue pup Bear .

My wife and I have twin boys (Leo and Luka) and two golden retrievers (Apollo and Rogue).

On January 4th, 2025, we were out driving around locally when we came across a German Shepherd who was clearly in rough shape. I originally thought he was a stray, but it turns out I was wrong and he did, in fact, have owners.

This dog was covered in fleas, open wounds, and was visibly malnourished. I offered to take this poor pup in to give him the life he has always deserved. Without hesitation, the owners surrendered the Shepherd to me, which broke my heart.

I spent the next several hours in the emergency vet with him. He ended up staying the night and being sedated for minor treatment.

The next morning, I picked the dog up and brought him home. We decided to name him Bear because of how much he looks like one and how cuddly he can be.

Bear has already been to our vet and we are awaiting results from his blood panel. Our biggest concern is heartworm, which can be a rigorous and expensive treatment process.

Bear has a long healing process ahead of him. His skin is in really rough shape. He needs neutered, vaccinated, and a ton of love through this process.

We aren’t in the most ideal situation to bring Bear into our home as it’s already a little crowded, but we are going to try our best to make it work and integrate him into our home.

We are going to give Bear the best chance at a new life.
