Give Becky A Safe Place to Live

Hi, our coworker Becky is in great need. Over the past 15 months, Becky has been increasingly ill and the doctors do not know why. Unfortunately, in 2020 she decided not to purchase company health insurance due to cost and as it turned out this is when she began to get sick. As she has deteriorated, she struggles to walk 5-10 feet due to substantial breathing problems. Her home was an old 1974 trailer that is in poor repair with no heat. To add to this, our company was sold and closing the doors. Becky has decided to stop work altogether as she is unable to stay productive in a normal work day. A longtime friend, a young man has offered a room and bathroom in his trailer and as we determined this was generous the space did not meet the needs of an elderly woman with adaptive needs. We are renovating this room as follows:
• Gut the bathroom and make it adaptive and accessible, installing a ceramic, zero entry shower with grab bars and a bench.
• Install a chair height toilet, new vanity, lighting and non- slip flooring to existing bathroom.
• Remove carpeting in the bedroom and install wood laminate flooring. New, low profile ceiling fan for air flow and fresh paint.
• New set of steps into the trailer with ramp.
• Help to finish addition to the home including; roofing, drywall, insulation, cement work, flooring, lighting, electrical and general rough in that her generous friend started and will become his bedroom.
The project will be completed by volunteer workers and donated personal funds if we cannot raise funds here. Renovation and move in must be completed by June 30th.
