Give Bernadine the Farewell She Deserves

Dearest Friends and Family,

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we are sharing the passing of Bernidean Thompson, just a few short weeks before the holiday. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who touched the lives of everyone she met. As we come to terms with this immense loss, we are faced with a very sudden and unexpected financial burden of burial expenses. Unfortunately, Bernidean (my grandmother) was suffering from Alzheimer's Dementia, and was taken advantage of by the very family members who were trusted and tasked in taking care of her. Said family members have taken everything that my grandmother worked for her whole life. They have forged a Power of Attorney documents, sold all of her property, pocketed the money for their own financial gains, attempted to change the beneficiary of her life insurance to themselves, taken out a loan against Bernidean's life insurance for $2,000.00 without ever paying it back and more. Despite my mother's efforts to regain control of Bernidean's finances and becoming her Power of Attorney (legally) and attempting to bring these evil, selfish, greedy, elder abusing, family members to justice, this unfortunate series of events, has led to my grandmother's life insurance being null and void and leaves her with $0.00 to cover funeral expenses. Consequently, we are struggling to cover the cost to give Bernidean the dignified farewell she deserves. We are reaching out to our community for support during this difficult time. ANY contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference to help us honor Bernidean's memory and wishes to be buried with her family.
