Give Brady the gift of a surgery for a pain-free life

Brady is a very sweet rescued Border Collie and Golden Retriever mix we adopted from a shelter. Initially we fostered Brady, but after he was adopted and brought back at least 5 times, we decided we were the only ones who would love him and give him the good home he deserved. Over the years Brady has gotten over his trauma from being abandoned and bouncing around shelters. Though he’s overcome many obstacles, he now needs a hip replacement.

A few years ago Brady was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia in both hind legs after he was brought to the vet for a limp in his left leg. He had hip replacement surgery on his back left leg in 2021, and we had hoped his other back leg would be ok, but in recent months he has started to limp again now in the right leg, and is in significant pain. In September the vet said his right hip is now at severe risk for dislocating and needs a hip replacement in that leg as soon as possible.

The hip replacement he had years ago on his other leg greatly improved his quality of life and his mobility in that leg. With this surgery, he will finally have both hips fixed and have the mobility, range of motion, and freedom from pain to be his best dog self again.

The surgery is scheduled for January 2025, and the estimates for the total hip replacement are between $7,000 -

$10,000. In the meantime, Brady currently relies on daily pain medication (Galliprant), supplements, and we have to be very careful walking him so his hip does not dislocate.

Because of the sudden and traumatic pancreatic cancer diagnosis our cat Rusty had in July, we have still been recovering from the $6,000 cancer diagnostic screenings, tests, and hospital visits from this past summer when we lost him. Any donations would be greatly appreciated by us and our Brady.
