Help give Chagossians an independent voice at the UN
Donation protected
We are Chagossian Voices, a platform for the exiled Chagossian community. We were forcibly removed from our islands by the UK to make way for a US airbase on Diego Garcia and now live in exile - mainly in Mauritius, the UK and the Seychelles. We want to be able to assert our indigenous voice at the United Nations, independent of any state, so we can live as Chagossians, both in exile and in our beloved homeland. The money will enable us to be represented at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (New York April 15-26 2024) and the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (Geneva 8-12 July 2024). We have been denied a voice and a right to self-determination for too long. Funds raised will only be spent on travel, accommodation, visas and administration costs associated with attendance at the conferences. Thank you for supporting us!
