Help Homeless: Moms, Elderly, Kids & Handicapped
Donation protected
Dear brothers and sisters,
Merry Christmastime! We need you and your loved ones' help to feed, clothe, and bring some cheer to the homeless this Christmas, and God-willing beyond in India if we can raise enough. We are increasing our goal on this 8th year of this fundraiser to help more homeless, not just in the USA but now in India.
In the USA, your donations will go to help a private homeless shelter for single mothers and their kids to keep them off the streets to feed, shelter, clothe and protect them from abusive fathers and husbands. This shelter survives solely off donations from the local community, and without us, they would have no Christmas. With your help, we will be able to give them daily necessities as "gifts" and each child a toy.
In prior years, we donated pillows for everyone, and one of the kids came up to Juleann, tugged at her shirt, and said, “Thanks for the pillow, lady!” That thanks goes to you and everyone who gives anything.
In India, many people are suffering, including handicapped and elderly who are homeless, and the government does not help. They beg for daily food and warm blankets because they don’t have enough. They live on the land of others under tarps or dilapidated make-shift structures. It is truly heartbreaking to see. It is now winter in India, and many of them are shivering in the cold without warm clothing or a blanket at night. They come daily to the main temple in Haridwar, India (in the foothills of the cold Himalayas), to beg for any help. During Juleann’s travels there during the lockdown, she met many of these kinds of poverty-stricken families. We want to do more than just give ourselves, but we heartfully ask you all to give whatever you can too.
Our group now includes a priest, Mahesh at the main temple in Haridwar, who purchased dry food (rice, wheat, dhal, etc.), clothes (jackets, sweaters, socks, underwear) like last year in the cold winter, and blankets. We could not raise enough money to help everyone but we would like to help as many people as we can this year with all the donations everyone gives.
We take not even one penny for ourselves; This is a project of selfless service (seva). Please give any amount you can to help, as even $1 can buy some food for the poorest of the poor in India and here in Los Angeles.
If you prefer your donation only go to those in the USA or India, you are welcome to specify that in your post or let us know. We desire to honor everyone's wishes.
Thank you everyone for anything you can give, as every $1 makes a difference. If you can give $5, $35, $50, $100, $500 or even $1000, it is all needed. When we asked how much money we needed to raise to help the homeless in Haridwar, we were told it will never be enough because there are too many homeless living there.
If you would like to receive photos of the events as we give to the homeless, and receive a copy of the thank you card for all donating, please send an email to us at info at ShirdiSaiBabaGlobalServices.org
Please heartfully share this Gofundme fundraiser link with at least 10 people to be able to help more people. Thank you again for anything you can give to help.
