Help Us Renovate Sendafa's First Public Library ✨

Dear Friends and Supporters,

In Ethiopia, there is a dire shortage of books and limited access to libraries. For instance, in Sendafa-Beke, a town in the Oromia region with a population of nearly 150,000, over 24,000 students do not have access to library services. This lack of access is a challenge faced by many communities across Ethiopia, a country with a population of over 120 million.

We are excited to share with you the hopes and dreams of the Libraries for Ethiopia Fund (LiFEF). Our mission is to bring the gift of reading to underserved communities in Ethiopia by establishing the first public library in cities and towns around the country. LiFEF aims to ignite a culture of reading and provide hope for the children of Ethiopia.

Our first project is in Sendafa-Beke. We are fortunate that the mayor and the community of Sendafa-Beke have provided us with a vacant building to transform into the first public library. However, as seen in

In this video, the building is shown as needing significant refurbishment and renovation to become a functional and welcoming space for the community.

We need your help as we plan to raise $21,000 to renovate this building and convert it into an educational center for the children of Sendafa-Beke, Ethiopia.
