This is Giselle. At only the age of 11, she has already undergone two knee surgeries in her short life to help rectify the rare condition of Meniscectomia

After her last surgery, sadly, the condition had not improved. The doctors have said they were unable to do much more until she stops growing,

For a child that loves to dance and play, participate in sports and athletics was crushing news for both her and her family. The condition brought about the necessity to stop those and most other activities to protect her bone structure.

However one overseas doctor has the necessary skills to carry out the transplant, and has also found a suitable donor!

Unexpectedly, the operation for her knee has become available with the chance to give her the freedom to be an active child again! The operation expenses are large, and of course had not been budgeted for, but the opportunity is one too amazing to miss out on.

With the overall expenses being $60K, this is evidently a very specific procedure, and we thought some of those that love Giselle and this family may like to help contribute to this gift for her, and her family. Every little bit would help make this a reality and lighten the financial load,

as she heads in for this operation in the upcoming weeks.

Com apenas 11 anos, ela já passou por duas cirurgias no joelho em sua curta vida para ajudar a corrigir a rara condição da meniscectomia Depois da última cirurgia, infelizmente, o quadro não melhorou. Os médicos disseram que não poderiam fazer muito mais até que ela parasse de crescer, Para uma criança que adora dançar e brincar, praticar esportes e atletismo foi uma notícia devastadora para ela e sua família. A condição trouxe a necessidade de interromper essas e muitas outras atividades para proteger sua estrutura óssea. No entanto, um médico no estrangeiro possui as habilidades necessárias para realizar o transplante e também encontrou um doador adequado! Inesperadamente, a operação ao joelho tornou-se disponível com a oportunidade de lhe dar a liberdade de ser uma criança ativa novamente! As despesas hospitalares são grandes e, claro, não foram orçamentadas, mas a oportunidade é incrível demais para ser desperdiçada. Com as despesas gerais a serem de $ 60 mil, este é evidentemente um procedimento muito específico, e pensámos que alguns daqueles que amam a Giselle e esta família podem gostar de ajudar a contribuir para este presente para ela e para a sua família. Cada pedacinho ajudaria a tornar isto uma realidade e a aliviar a carga financeira, enquanto ela se dirige para esta operação nas próximas semanas.

1st surgery

9 June 2020 she was 7 years old

Recovery for her to walk again was 2 months.

2nd Surgery

30 November 2021 she was 9 years old

Unfortunately after the first surgery there was another tear and substantial swelling. The meniscus had to be reduced by 40% and the second tear repaired. Total recovery time was around 6 months
