Hello, my name is Gunner. I am a 3-year-old Presa Canario. When I was 9 months old, I broke my leg. We also found out both of my hips were bad. My mom and dad took me to get surgery to get my leg fixed. The veterinarian completely destroyed my quad, and my bone never healed. X-rays from another vet said the pin completely missed the bone. The pin popped out of my skin twice. So, I had to get surgery again; this time, they said it was fixed. My leg never healed the way it should have, and I've had a limp my whole life.

Fast forward to now, one day I woke up with a huge lump on my leg. My parents took me to the vet, and it turns out my bone had been trying to repair itself by building layer upon layer, and fragments broke off. The fragments ended up causing an infection in my leg. My vet says I will need to get it amputated, and since my other leg is bad as well, eventually I will need a hip replacement. This first surgery to get rid of the infection is going to cost thousands of dollars. Along with my post-op care, pain management, physical therapy, and maybe a wheelchair, it's going to be a long and hard process for me to heal, and my parents need all the help they can get!
