Give Gus a Chance-A sad case of long-term neglect

Donation protected

A horrible case of neglect.

Wee eleven year old Angus was discovered, by a wildlife rehabilitator, in a dark basement storage room.  He had spent his entire life there in his prison which was a 14"x22" cage.  A gift forgotten and stored away like an old doll.  His nails had never been trimmed...many of his toes had been broken.  He was in very poor condition.  Thanks to the wildlife rehabilitator's efforts and some great networking, Gus was surrendered  on Thursday September 12, 2019 and transported to Dancing Rabbit Refuge, in Waterloo, Ontario.  He immediately received care and pain medication.  His first vet visit confirmed that he had many problems:  overgrown and infected molars, bilateral ear infections, broken toes, an upper respiratory infection, muscle loss and atrophy, a grade 3 heart murmur, and testicular cancer. If that seems like a lot for a little bunny ...it is!  But, the good news is that he is already responding to treatment (pain medication and antibiotics) and that all of his conditions are treatable.  But, we need your help to fund expensive diagnostics and treatment.  Gus will need a cardiac ultrasound, blood work, several sets of radiographs, a molar trim, and he must be neutered, despite his advanced years, because of the testicular tumour.  Please help us to give Gus a comfortable, pain free, and joyful "happily ever after."

Thank you for stepping up to help this sweet, forgiving soul where others have failed him.
