Give hope to Hammad's family

Hello, I'm Dr Anna Levinson, a GP from Newcastle, Australia.

I am raising funds to help this Palestinian family rebuild, after losing everything in the Israeli attacks.

Hammad's father Dr. Mohamed Monzer is an ENT surgeon froma Al-Shifa Hospital which was destroyed by the occupation, and his mother, Suad is an English teacher, whose school was also destroyed in this war. As a result, they not been able to work and receive a salary for 8 months.

Hammad has two brothers and four sisters, Farah, 17, Ahmed, 15, Anas, 13, Batoul, 10, Jana, 7 and baby Sham who is only 4 years old.

Here is a message from Hammad's mother, Suad, about her family :

"Like all children in the world, my beautiful children have dreams, aspirations, hopes and desires, but all of these have been violated by the occupation. My children were deprived of the sweet childhood that was their due. They loved their home which was so comfortable and pleasant, filled with the laughter and joys of everyday life. Our living room was a meeting place where my daughter Sham watched her favorite cartoons with her two sisters, Jana and Batoul.

Our beautiful house was bombed by the merciless occupation, our place of life and memories is no more. They destroyed my children's toys, my daughter's Barbie house, and they burned all their clothes.

My children are also excellent students, they are the pride of the entire family but because of this war they were unable to continue their education, neither at school nor at university.

We find ourselves today in a situation that we could never have imagined, without a house, our beautiful clothes, our comfortable rooms, our car, beds, and all we have and without food and water suitable for consumption. My family is therefore in great need of your help to survive in this terrible times and rebuild our lives, and later on our home."

Hammad's family is deeply traumatized by the incessant displacements and the relentless violence. They were displaced at the start of the war, from their home in North Gaza to the Nuseirat camp in the middle of the strip.

During this time the house next to them was bombed and they were forced to return to their home in hopes of finding safety. Unfortunately, due to the proximity to Al-Shifa Hospital, their house was destroyed . They were bombed, besieged and deprived of food for many days, a living nightmare.

They have been displaced many times, and today live in the north of Gaza in their cousins' house.

They are people like us, who just want to live a normal, safe, peaceful life. They deserve our greatest efforts and assistance. We must help them survive during this period.
