"GIVE IT UP FOR OUR TEACHERS, 14 DAYS OF GIVING"

Hi everyone! My name is Emily Ellis and I am a senior at Columbus North High School. 2021 was a very challenging year for many people due to many reasons. Going through a global pandemic that seems to be never-ending is not only physically draining, but mentally as well. At my school, seniors design and complete a project to benefit our community. I decided to do a project researching the negative effects the pandemic has had on the mental health of teachers. It was very upsetting to see how drastically the pandemic has worsened the mental health of teachers causing many to feel underappreciated, overworked, and ready to retire. We need education. Education is a key part of the foundation for a well-run country. We need to show our love and appreciation for our teachers during such a hard time.

That is why I decided to create a GoFundMe page to raise money for local teachers. All the money will go directly to making care packages filled with gift cards, goodies, and thank you notes in an attempt to thank local teachers and improve their mental health.

After the two-week GoFundMe fundraiser, I will order all the gifts from amazon and personally create each care package. I will then deliver each gift to teachers in my school to thank them for their hard work and dedication to a strong education.
