Give Lee Curtis a new memorial

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rach. I am creating this page on behalf of my husband Sean.

Sean sadly lost his Dad Lee Curtis in 2008, Lee was very well known around the village he lived in. He was loved by so many and helped so many people. His children absolutely adored him and miss him terribly. Since his passing the family created a memorial on Roche cricket pitch grounds, this memorial has been there since he passed. His children and other family members have always put items around this memorial tree for him.

Unfortunately my husband lost his brother in 2019, his brother had put items at their Dad's memorial over the years and these items became more important after his passing.

A few weeks ago myself and my husband went to put some new items down at his Dad's memorial. My husband went down and returned in tears, shaking, barely able to speak and carrying broken items. Someone had gone down to the memorial and destroyed nearly everything that was put there, they had even gone as far as to smash items nailed to the tree, it appears they had used massive branches to destroy everything they could. Flower pots were smashed, ornaments were smashed or thrown around the place, a plaque had been smashed, another plaque had been smashed while still nailed to the tree, all the notes and letters his children have left him were gone, it appears items were burnt, we sadly can't find any items that my brother in law put down for his Dad. Nothing...we have searched and searched. The cricket pitch backs on to Roche Rock so there's a big chance the items were thrown into the hedges and trees around there. We had no choice but to take the new items back with us, we didn't want to risk them getting destroyed too. We went back and searched the area again, we managed to find something my husband put there a few years ago but other items were found ripped to pieces, still nothing that my brother in law put down.

My husband's family have experienced so much grief over the years, my husband himself being involved in a nasty accident shortly after losing his Dad. They are a loving and kind family always helping others, they didn't deserve this and my father in law certainly didn't deserve his memorial being destroyed.

It breaks our hearts that someone could do this. To make it worse we returned to the memorial to find even though there is nothing left there someone has gone back and done a vindictive and nasty act which is far beyond senseless vandalism. Unfortunately the cricket club's CCTV doesn't cover the end of the pitch.

We have had an appointment at a crematorium to see about having a memorial garden and plaque for my father in law. This is a costly thing, my husband would love to have a place where he and his siblings and their family can go and remember Lee, to know that what they put there is safe, the place we saw is absolutely wonderful. But due to the cost involved it will take us a long time to get this money together. My husband would like to create a memorial garden and have one side for his Dad and the other for his Brother. To allow him, his family and his brothers young Daughter to be able to go and remember them both together.

We are with holding the name of the crematorium on this public page just incase these two acts have been deliberate acts against Lee or his family for whatever reason.

To anyone who knew Lee, whose lives were touched by this incredible man, those who know my husband and his family, those who know Lee's children if anyone can donate even £5 to this page it would be such a massive help, we just want to give Lee the memorial he so rightly deserves. A memorial his children and family know is safe, any little amount you can donate will honestly mean so much to Lee's entire family.

Please help us try to rebuild what was so cruelly taken away.

Thank you for your time.
