Give light to the disabled community
Donation protected
Our beautiful parents. They have always supported all of us and everyone. They work tremendously hard for everything they have.
This month, a part of their property was burnt to the ground.
Our mother Carolyn, works in disability care - and along with my father Rod, has been building a business for disability care in the way of respite for carers and offering an opportunity for the disabled community to experience some joy in the way of a farm retreat - “Open Gate farm stay”
Unfortunately the cottage wasn’t covered at this time, as it was in the process of being reinsured under the business. Always the way.
The part of the property that has been burnt to the ground is the cottage, which my parents built to house the disabled clients on their stay at the farm.
It had been specifically fitted out, to support people with physical disabilities.
Our Dad did all of this build, in the small time he has in between working a full time job and running a farm.
As well as the cottage, our Dads garage was also burnt completely to the ground.
This included all of his tools and all of the machines necessary for running the farm, which has taken many years to acquire.
They just do not deserve this.
They have worked so hard to get to this point.
If you can, please help by donating anything you can. Our parents are the type to never ask for help, and this is a huge devastation to them.
The money raised will be going towards rebuilding the cottage for the disability retreat, so that our mother can begin to earn an income from her very needed, very appreciated work.
Our mother works to give light and life to the ones who are generally forgotten.
Help give light and life back.
