But right now, Lucas needs our help more than ever.

Just this past Sunday, Lucas fell ill with a flu bug that quickly escalated into pneumonia. At just one year old, he was diagnosed with Propionic Acidemia, a rare metabolic disorder that prevents his body from breaking down certain proteins. This condition can cause harmful substances to build up in his blood, leading to devastating symptoms like dissociation, being non-verbal, and an inability to eat. For many years, we were blessed to see Lucas thrive without episodes, but this recent illness has triggered a crisis that has brought us back to the brink of despair.

Lucas is currently in the ICU at Rand Memorial Hospital, where the dedicated doctors have done everything they can with the limited resources available. However, the heartbreaking news is that he urgently needs to be airlifted to the University of Miami Hospital for advanced treatment. The doctors have made it clear that he cannot make this life-saving journey unless we have $100,000 in cash upfront. As a family, we are terrified and overwhelmed, feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders as we fight for Lucas’s life.
