On August 3, 2024, our lives changed forever.

The call came in. You know the one.

Our family's best friend, Marlon Brown, had been seriously injured while riding his motorcycle on the Duffy Lake Road, near Pemberton, BC.

Marlon is not just anybody, he's the glue that holds so many of us together. He's a son, father, best friend, brother, uncle, businessman, and comrade to our community.

If you've had the good fortune to meet Marlon, then you already understand the incredible level of his graciousness and caring for others. We want to return the favor.

My name is Sheldon Saywell, and my family and I want to help our Best Friend make it through his recovery and come home without the worry of overdue bills, debt, and business and mortgage payments.

Marlon was air lifted to Vancouver General Hospital where he remained in ICU so they could assess his injuries. After some time, Marlon was transferred to his home city of Nanaimo, to recover closer to home and his community.

Surprisingly, he doesn't look like he was in a motorcycle accident at highway speeds, but despite that, his brain is paying the price. He currently does not have a level of consciousness that allows him to swallow any food or drink, speak any words or make eye contact.

Rest and time are the only things that can speed up his recovery, and that leaves the financial obligations of his personal and entrepreneurial life on hold.

He needs our generosity right now to help pay for his living costs while he's recovering from his injuries. We are unsure what the timeline for this looks like and will keep you all posted here with his progress. I will be managing the funds and making sure that his personal and business bills are paid with the help of your generosity.
