Outreach Debate is an 501(c)3 organization that seeks to make debate international.

We started when Sam Chen and Justine Mach met at a summer camp. Unbeknownst to both of them, both of them had a passion for debate and would later talk about making debate more inclusive, engaging, and unified globally. It's now our one year anniversary and we celebrate more than two free debate camps that have reached more than 280+ debaters, 25+ state chapters and 16 national chapters in places like Trinidad and Tobago, China, Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, and an impact of more than 2,850+ students. In terms of cost savings, at similar online camp rates, we've saved debaters $180,000 dollars with top tier instructors who volunteer with us.

Everyone can appreciate the power of debate. Debate is one of the most important activities in all of America and the world. It asks people to think critically about global issues and think about both sides before reaching conclusions. When we saw rampant polarization in our communities, distrust on both sides of politics, and a lack of empathy for others, we saw Outreach Debate as something more powerful than just competitive debate: It was a mission that had a purpose for our country and globe.

So What Does Your Donation Do?

1. Continue our mission: We run on a completely free, volunteer-basis. For us to reach more people through marketing, collaborations, and premium services, we need money to sponsor our tournaments and promote awards to high performing debaters. Every *1 dollar* allows us to let another debater to debate at our tournaments for free.

2. Establish Scholarships for Excellent Leaders in Debate: It's strange that almost every program that is well funded for highschoolers is either business related or STEM related. Debaters must spend thousands of dollars traveling to tournaments and have little to nothing in scholarships. We're aiming to become the first organization to create a scholarship for excellent debaters who will lead the world.

3. Fund our Chapters. We're in more than 25+ states who work actively with us. To further the strength of our community, we aim to create in-person retreats with our leaders to train, inspire, and grow them alongside our mission.
