Help Our Dad, George Scott Staniar, Beat Cancer

To Scott's family, friends, and anyone else looking to support,

Our world has been turned upside down since our father's recent cancer diagnosis. We initially thought that the onset of rapidly worsening back pain was the result of muscle strain from a recent two-day tennis event. Undetected by initial blood work, x-rays, and ultrasounds, an MRI and then emergency catscan (initially recommended as a precautious due diligence) revealed the cause of the symptoms to be a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

Scott is undergoing additional testing to determine the exact nature and pathology of the cancer, but because initial results indicate a rapid and aggressive spread, it is clear that an immediate and multifaceted treatment plan is critical to give Scott the best chance of fighting this. Given the complexity of this diagnosis, and the need to utilize integrated treatments in a timely fashion, our parents are going to CA for treatments. In addition. we have been advised that insurance will only cover a fraction of the cost of these treatment plans. While we are blessed to have generous support from family, the cost estimate provided by our medical team is enormous. Your donations are going to be used to pay for our dad’s medical care, and our mom Rita will be the one who will oversee the funds transfers so that the bills will be paid in a timely manner.

Those of you who know our dad G. Scott Staniar personally will not be surprised that throughout this journey so far, he has kept a smile on his face, a positive attitude for his friends and loved ones, and continues to endear everyone he comes into contact with.

This campaign has been organized by Scott's four kids; Garth, Leslie, Kimberly, and Elizabeth to whom he has served as a father, mentor, teacher, and unwavering light. Beyond serving his kids, Scott has been an amazing husband to our mom Rita for over 28 years. Professionally, he has spent the better part of the last two decades working full-time to provide economically disadvantaged youth access to personal, academic, and athletic mentorship, inspiring confidence and empowering members of the next generation to seek prosperity. Scott is an amazing man, and we appreciate any and all support to help us fund the oncology treatments he needs.

We understand that many are not in a place to contribute financially, and want to emphasize that simply sharing this campaign is a fantastic way to support our efforts.

Our family cannot thank all of you enough. We are immensely grateful. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
